our story

History

Faberfarm is a place where people come together to celebrate, learn, grow and cultivate community in a joyful, creative and beautiful environment that is authentic to its agricultural roots.

Faberfarm is a place where people come together to celebrate, learn, grow and cultivate community in a joyful, creative and beautiful environment that is authentic to its agricultural roots.

We love hosting gorgeous weddings, celebrations and gatherings, farm dinners and workshops throughout the growing season.

Faberfarm is situated in the heart of the agriculturally rich Skagit Valley in Mount Vernon, Washington. Strategically situated halfway between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, and an easy 2.5 miles west of Interstate-5 make it an easy destination for all your guests. The Skagit Valley is renowned for having some of the most agriculturally productive and valuable farmland in the world. We are incredibly proud of our local farmers and of everyone working to ensure the future of our farmland, farmers and a pretty fantastic way of life.

ABOUT

Faberfarm was homesteaded in 1883 and the land has been successfully producing quality crops since that time. Our farm, a portion of the original 160-acre tract of Thomas Barrett, was built as a self-sustaining dairy farm. The barn, loafing shed and chicken coop date from that era. The Dutch gambrel style barn and Craftsman house were built around 1920 and both still retain many of their original features.

History

Pam's Inspration-Pete & Pauline Faber

Pam Faber, Founder

Pam has been connected to the agricultural roots of the Skagit Valley her entire life. She left the valley to attend university and corporate work in Seattle and in other parts of the world. She has held a variety of executive management positions in locally and globally significant companies. She has managed and produced events from 10 to 500+ attendees from the most casual to five star, over-the-top private events. And throughout it all Pam always kept a hand, literally, in the dirt.

Pam is thrilled to once again be rooted back in the valley and looks forward to the opportunity to share her joy in the beauty and bounty of this very special place.

Upon entering the grounds, you are instantly transported to an earlier time, a simpler time. As if remembering, your pace will slow as you relax into and feel the history of this place. A time when we rose with the sun and spent our days outdoors. You are drawn to the century old barn. It’s classic and timeless, both elegant and vintage. The barn retains many of its original features including soaring rafters and beams of old growth lumber. From the barn there are spectacular views across large expanses of lawns, gardens and farm fields and on the best days, Mount Baker and the Olympic Mountains.

Take a stroll through the grounds, the vegetable garden and orchard and its hard not to recall the many people who have tended to this soil since 1883.  The property includes the barn, a covered outdoor area, entry terrace, decks and lawns allowing you many options for each element of your wedding or celebration. Faberfarm is a perfect blank slate allowing you to create the experience of your dreams.
